I'm sure a half hour video telling coaches that spying on the other team's practice is wrong will prevent future incidents. That's how morals work, right? All's fair until you've done your annual training course?Canada Soccer staff will undergo mandatory ethics training.
Well, apparently it had gotten missed once already since they caught the guy on his 2nd attempt (that we know of).Drones are noisy, that seems like a rather unintelligent way to try to spy when a quietly installed hidden camera could've done the job.
Olympics are so often weak on punishments, not fair to the team, but the team should take an L if they play New Zealand. Should be consequences that matter. Some rando assistant would likely gladly get sent home for some free intel...
They play New Zealand tomorrow.Olympics are so often weak on punishments, not fair to the team, but the team should take an L if they play New Zealand. Should be consequences that matter. Some rando assistant would likely gladly get sent home for some free intel...
If you get them high enough you can't hear them at all.Drones are noisy, that seems like a rather unintelligent way to try to spy when a quietly installed hidden camera could've done the job.
"Here's a breakdown of every method you totally shouldn't let yourselves get caught using to spy on the other team"I'm sure a half hour video telling coaches that spying on the other team's practice is wrong will prevent future incidents. I simply have no moral guide in the world outside of 20-30 minute corporate training videos. I literally cannot tell you if something is good or bad to do if I haven't seen, at the very least, 3 Powerpoint slides about it. Then, after I've seen it, I totally understand if and why it is good/bad to do or think.I'm sure a half hour video telling coaches that spying on the other team's practice is wrong will prevent future incidents. Seems like more of a Connor Stalions type jobIs Bill Belichick moonlighting for the Canadian women's futbol team?
Sure, because the first thing you do as the victim of a false flag op is to admit that you did it...As a Canadian soccer fan, this is clearly bullshit.
Our federation is too broke to buy a drone due to decades of mismanagement and corruption, even by FIFA standard.
Clearly this is a false flag operation by a rival federation that didn’t have to pass the hat around to pay a national team coach (Jesse Marsch on the men’s side approx. 2 months ago)
Drones are regularly used to surveil defense contractors. Counter-drones are being deployed. Drone wars are happening already but not being reported.Drones are now everywhere—swarming the skies over...
So if you see "drone ethics" creeping into your compliance program right after sections on "how to avoid being phished" and "don't let anyone else follow you through the door after you swipe your keycard"...
And NZ is currently ranked 28th in the world. Why die on this hill? I can only assume from this that they've been spying on other teams too, but this is just the ones they were caught for.I did not expect this to be how women's football/soccer got featured on the ars front page.
For additional context, the Canadian women are the reigning Olympic champions.
Only if you get at least 60% on the multiple-choice test at the endI'm sure a half hour video telling coaches that spying on the other team's practice is wrong will prevent future incidents. That's how morals work, right? All's fair until you've done your annual training course?
I'm not sure of the structure - does a loss mean they're knocked out immediately? - if not, I'd argue they (the soccer team) should be disqualified from the Olympics altogether. This should be an automatic game loss to the Canadians.
And they medaled in Rio. They didn't play well in the last World Cup when Janine Beckie was hurt. Who has released a statement concerning this and she sounds TICKED. (I work at the university where she played college ball, so I have a bit of a bias.)I did not expect this to be how women's football/soccer got featured on the ars front page.

They start out with group play. Canada - NZ is actually the first game of the tournament period.I'm not sure of the structure - does a loss mean they're knocked out immediately? - if not, I'd argue they (the soccer team) should be disqualified from the Olympics altogether.
And in France, there's no "innocent until proven guilty." With strong enough suspicion, it would be possible to detain him indefinitely.Since he was acting on behalf of the Canadian football team, this would seem to be commercial use of a drone, yes? I wonder, was he a licensed operator in France, and was his aircraft registered w/ their DGAC? In the US, if you or your drone are unlicensed with FAA, you face penalties for getting caught by the authorities. Those penalties are more severe if you are unlicensed and operating commercially vs privately.
Pft! The photo was taken from The Orbiting HQ, it is Ars we are talking about.I am appalled that Ars used a drone to spy on the drone spying on a soccer match.

Our Woman's team might only be ranked 28th but we did pretty well in the last world cup and there's always the possibility of an upset win or more likely draw on the cards again which could hamper Canada going through given the other teams in our pool so I can see their concern. At least with Canada you know you're going to get an apology when they're caught spying on you.And NZ is currently ranked 28th in the world. Why die on this hill? I can only assume from this that they've been spying on other teams too, but this is just the ones they were caught for.
In an interesting twist, Bev Priestman the Canadian head coach used to be the head of NZ Football and is married to a former NZ Football Ferns player. Awkward.
