That's awfully kind of Cadillac to fly them out and put them up to drive a Polestar.Out of curiosity, where does Cadillac come into the picture?

Not that I'm all for marketing hype but the term fastback has been around forever, the classic 1967-1969 Mustang that everyone thinks of when you say mussel car was a fastback (3 bodies were available a coupe, a convertible and the fastback). That is such a visually weird vehicle: I cannot tell from those pictures whether its a sedan or an SUV-like thing. And hitting the website for it: I still can't tell what it is.

And: the best part: there's not a single picture on the canadian polestar website that actually shows the thing with the rear open: so is it a trunk, or does the rear window swing upwards.
Edit:

Ok: i like how much space there is back there...
Fastback is a relatively old term. There was a line of classic Mustangs called fastbacks. It's basically a cool term for a "hatchback muscle car".That is such a visually weird vehicle: I cannot tell from those pictures whether its a sedan or an SUV-like thing. And hitting the website for it: I still can't tell what it is.

Fastback is a term at least 80 years old in the car industry.
From Wikkipedia:
A fastback is an automotive styling feature, defined by the rear of the car having a single slope from the roof to the tail.
Thanks Dr Gitlin: i've spent most of my life driving station wagons or minivansWhoops, thanks for spotting!
Really? It's neither something new nor something polestar invented. The Rover SD1 was a fastback. The Audi A5 and A7 are fastbacks.

Never mind. Only three retailers in all of Canada? Seriously?

The original Polestar 2 AWD wasn't exactly an efficiency wonder, but this upgrade puts it on par with the Model 3 Highland as far as WLTP goes. Impressive. I'm curious to see real world consumption figures.
It's a station wagon with the last 1/8th of the trunk cut off....

This would have been on my radar if there was somewhere closer than a multi-hour trip to go check one out.
A good UI is important. Buttons don't necessarily mean a good UI, and a touchscreen doesn't necessarily mean a bad UI.I thought Audi understood the importance of physical controls and nicely integrated displays based on my Q4 e-tron but the Q6 interior reveal is revolting and sad.
Only runs on Shell gas?Not that I'm all for marketing hype but the term fastback has been around forever, the classic 1967-1969 Mustang that everyone thinks of when you say mussel car was a fastback (3 bodies were available a coupe, a convertible and the fastback).
Presumably, it'll come with an NACS adapter, based on all of the news reports of Polestar adopting the NACS port.It still uses the CCS charging port right?
For a fastback the trunk is still disappointingly small
You have never heard of a fastback? That is such a visually weird vehicle: I cannot tell from those pictures whether its a sedan or an SUV-like thing. And hitting the website for it: I still can't tell what it is.

Can someone please explain this to me? I thought summer tires generally had better efficiency than winter tires, at the cost of traction.but with a corresponding loss of range due to the summer tires
Is it really Android Auto as well as CarPlay? Or is it just Android Automotive with CarPlayThe Android Automotive infotainment system includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Thank you: currently their website only shows 3 locations across all of Canada: Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal: maybe they are aiming to expand the network.Polestar has a few locations in Canada and a bunch of Canadian journalists were on the same wave as me last week in Denver so I think they do care about you. I remember being told that the 90% of Canadian polestar 2s are the twin-motor version.
2022 Polestar 2 owner here. It's definitely a midsize sedan, but it's built on the Volvo C40 platform and that means it rides quite high. It reminds me of the stance of AMC Eagles from the 1980s.That is such a visually weird vehicle: I cannot tell from those pictures whether its a sedan or an SUV-like thing. Well that's odd because even the old 1966 Mustang fastback was referred to as a fastback.30 odd years of driving: I'd never heard the expression 'fastback'

Fastback has been a thing for decades...
Is just usually a sedan or coupe with a sloping back to the rear without much of a dedicated flat trunk like sedans. Some other names can be grand coupes (bmw),
Ex: audi A7, mustangs, Teslas, mercedes cls, and a whole host of other cars through out the years.
Fastbacks have definitely a thing for a long time - I think it started in the 60s with pony/muscle cars30 odd years of driving: I'd never heard the expression 'fastback'
